The approach of this standard is based on the communication and management of the interest groups, hence the requirements set out being related to the 7 main management groups or areas of any organization: executive management, customers, suppliers / providers, individuals comprising the organization, social environment, physical environment, investors, competitors and public administrations.

The possibility of gaining a first-hand knowledge of the needs and expectations of the stakeholders enables the organizations to respond and in many cases keep a step ahead of their demands, wherein lies the key of the systematic management suggested by this standard.

  • The objective of ISO is to reach a consensus regarding solutions that meet commercial and social requirements. These standards are met voluntarily since the ISO, being a non-governmental entity, does not have the authority to demand compliance.
