In Ossian Vines and Wines we have been recognized with the Innovative SME Seal awarded by the General Directorate for Innovation and Competitiveness, under the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The seal, received recently, is valid for three years and endorses our winery’s commitment to innovation, development and research. Eva Navascués, director of R&D&I, leads a team whose objective is to promote knowledge of the vineyard, its particular soils and its unique winemaking process by establishing research projects with different universities, including the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Among the main R&D&I projects and studies are soil characterization, vineyard adaptation to climate change conditions, clonal selection and germplasm bank, monitoring of grape aromatic ripening, evolution of the native population in fermentation or the synergy between oak wood and aging on lees, among others.
